The hit TV show leaves 10 people to survive in remote Tasmania for as long as they can. The winner of Alone Australia wins $250,000.

A group of 10 brave participants are forced to use their wits when left in the wilderness with nothing but a backpack. The adventurers struggle with harsh weather hostile locations and aggressive wildlife.

Alone (US)

Alone is an American survival competition series. It follows the self-documented daily struggles of 10 individuals as they survive alone in the wilderness for as long as possible using a limited amount of survival equipment.

With the exception of medical check-ins the participants are isolated from each other and all other humans. They may "tap out" at any time (or removed failing a medical check-in).

Contestants each select 10 items of survival gear from a pre-approved list of 40 and are issued a kit of standard equipment clothing and first aid/emergency supplies. They are also given a set of cameras to document their daily experiences and emotions. Attempting to live in the wild for as long as possible the contestants must find food build shelters and endure deep isolation physical deprivation and psychological stress.

Tapping Out
Contestants who wish to withdraw from the competition (referred to as "tapping out") signal a rescue crew using a provided satellite telephone. In addition medical professionals conduct periodic health checks on the contestants and may at their discretion disqualify and evacuate anyone they feel is unable to continue participating safely.

Winner
The contestant who remains the longest wins a grand prize ($500K - $1M). Contestants are warned that the show might last for up to a year.

Alone (Australia)

The inaugural season of Alone Australia will premiere on Wednesday 29th March 2023 at 7:30pm on SBS. (JustWatch below)

Ten participants will be dropped separately into the remote Tasmanian wilderness with only their survival skills to rely on. They'll have to hunt for their food build their own shelter and keep themselves safe. There will be no camera crew no devices no food drops no cheating! Contestants will document their journey showcasing their daily struggles to an audience of millions for the chance to win $250000.

SBS began recruiting for the show alongside ITV Studios Australia in February of 2022 with the series to be aired on SBS and SBS on Demand in 2023. Because the show includes contestants hunting and eating wild animals it remains to be seen where exactly in Tasmania the show will take place.
