Prepare for hi-tech show with lots of hits Ed Sheeran has kicked off his mega Mathematics tour - and all the bells, whistles and hits add up to an epic event. The show is all pluses, and no minuses, noting the chart-topping maestro has multiplied concert production to a massive scale. Sheeran performs on a 360- degree stage positioned in the centre of the stadium, giving punters clear views of the ­singer as they surround him on all sides. Six ramps extend into the crowd from the central stage. Giant video screens are suspended above the stage, and reviews say flame throwers spat flames during a metal song. Sheeran performs 24 songs and a full band accompanies him on five songs. For most part, Sheeran ­performs solo, as he did on the record-breaking Divide tour, with loop pedals, guitar and some of the biggest hits in the pop stratosphere.
