7.3km of Gravity Fuelled Fun With over 14 months of construction, we are proud to present the latest Luge track additions to Skyline Rotorua, Ultra, Twister and the Legend! 4 brand new corkscrews, over 12,000 native trees planted, 4 tunnels lit up with 430m of LED strip lighting, and so many more twists and turns. The Night Luge has also been transformed with 170 coloured LED lights and with the addition of these new tracks, our Luge now boasts a total track length of 7.3 kilometres - the longest in the world! Click here for more detailed Luge track information. Nestle into a Luge cart and zip off with friends or family to discover who has the skills to master the Luge. The part go-cart, part toboggan is gravity-fuelled with full rider control over speed and direction using a unique braking and steering system. Pull back on the handlebars to slow down or stop, release slightly to accelerate and enjoy the ride. The Luge is great for any age (our oldest rider is 101) and small children (provided they are 85cm high and over 2 years of age or more) can ride with adults. The world-famous Luge opened in 1986 and Skyline Rotorua continues to lead the way with Luge technology - all components are designed and manufactured in Rotorua and then shipped around the world to our other Luge locations. We have 5 Amazing Luge Tracks to ride! With the longest and greatest range of tracks of all Skyline Luge sites, there's something for everyone at Skyline Rotorua. Fun for all ages - with full instruction and a steering/braking system allowing the rider full control - the Luge is fun for everyone! Children between 85cm-109cm and 2-6 years are required to ride the Luge with a responsible person over 150cm tall and 15+ years. Tiki Tour Luge Track - Green (Previously the Scenic Track) A 1.7km scenic ride through Skyline's very own Redwood Forest with viewing bays at great locations for taking photographs, enjoy a leisurely trip whilst enjoying the panoramic views. Towards the end, you'll ride past the famous Dinosaurs! The Hidden Forest Event Venue is located on this Track. Gravity Luge Track - Orange (Previously the Intermediate Track) An exciting track to thrill all Luge riders, see who has the skill to make it to the bottom first. This 1.5 kilometres track features chicanes, a tunnel and awesome views over the city and Lake Rotorua. Legend Luge Track (NEW) The Legend Luge Track stands up to its name! Twisting and turning down Mt Ngongotaha with 3 incredible corkscrews and colourful lit-up tunnels this track will wow everyone that goes down. Twister Luge Track (NEW) Fun for all ages this 1.4 kilometres this track comes off the new Legend Luge Track. Twister has its very own Woosh!' corkscrew and tunnel before you merge and end your ride down the last 400 metres of the Tiki Tour Track past the Dinosaurs. Ultra Luge Track (NEW) Race your family and friends down the Legend Luge Track before splitting off onto the 1.3-kilometre Ultra Luge Track. With spirals and turns, you won't be able to get the kids off this track - Once is never enough!
